Lenin Park, 20 km south of Havana, in Arroyo Naranjo and with 745 hectares of land, is one of the largest leisure areas in the city. It was built between 1969 and 1972 thanks to the politician Celia Sanchez and leader Fidel Castro.

The park constitutes the lungs of the city with its beautiful green areas and even with the Paso Sequito Reservoir, in the very centre of the complex and for which you can rent a boat. Although it is already a great enjoyment to stroll through these beautiful green landscapes, the park also has several facilities and attractions for Havana families who usually spend the weekend there. Thus, its gigantic dimensions include an aquarium, movie theatres, sports courts, an amphitheatre that honours the Greeks and Romans, art galleries, and many others.

There are also several restaurants offering traditional Cuban dishes and pastries, as well as various activities focused on children.

In previous years, Lenin Park was in a deplorable state due to its slow but definitive abandonment. But for the 46th anniversary after its construction, a complete restoration process was initiated, which brought it back to life and repaired the swimming pools, the butterfly park (with different apparatuses) and many other facilities.

Now it is back more renovated and with the experience of professionals distributed throughout the park, especially in the restaurant La Ruina, focused on the most international food. In addition, the transportation service has been improved on routes 88 and 113 that lead to the park, as well as those that connect it to other places of interest such as the Zoológico Nacional, the Botanical Garden, and Expocuba.
