If you visit Cuba in a tight period of time, it is advisable to visit the western part of the island, being able to also visit something in the central part of Cuba. You will land at the José Martí International Airport, in the impressive city of Havana and from here you will visit the most emblematic stops in the country. In the western part you will find Viñales, an impressive place surrounded by nature that has a natural park, and Varadero, where there are beaches of fine white sand. In addition, in the downtown area you can book part of your trip to visit Trinidad or take a dip in the incredible beaches of Cayo Santa María, if you have a little more time or a more flexible budget.
Cuba is the largest island in the Antilles, knowing it in depth requires more than 7 days, so we propose an adjusted itinerary with the most recommended stops.

1-Havana + Varadero: arrival in Havana, 2 days in the city, 1 day excursion to Viñales, 3 days in Varadero, return to Havana to say goodbye.
2-Havana + Cayo Santa María (passing through Santa Clara): arrival in Havana, 2 days in the city, 1 day excursion to Viñales, 3 days in Cayo Santa María, return to Havana to say goodbye.

In Havana: there is a wide variety of hotels of all categories. The options are summarized between staying in Old Havana, the historic center of the city; Centro Habana, a quiet and modern district; Vedado, a neighborhood with a unique atmosphere brimming with culture and leisure; or the Miramar area, somewhat more remote and quiet.

Centro Habana is a district with fewer hotels, but it includes accommodations such as the Hotel Telégrafo, the Hotel SO Paseo del Prado, the Hotel Terral and the Hotel Deauville.
Another great option is to stay in a private house, which will allow you to live a unique experience, living in a house with a Cuban family, with all the comforts of a hotel, but generally at a much cheaper price.
In Varadero the most requested option is the all-inclusive hotels, which run along the famous and exotic Varadero Beach. Finally, if you have decided to take a trip with the Cayo Santa María option, you should know that what makes this trip more expensive with respect to Varadero (apart from the distance in the transfer), is that in Cayo Santa María there is only accommodation options in all-inclusive hotels.
