The Fototeca de Cuba (Cuban Photo Library) is located on Mercaderes Street, near the Plaza Vieja (Old Town Square) in Old Havana. The unique light blue building is sure to catch your eye when you are walking through the plaza. Make sure to step inside to enjoy their large collection of photographs.
The Fototeca de Cuba is a cultural institution that was founded in 1986. It is devoted to promoting, exhibiting, and preserving Cuban photography. The photo library houses two main galleries: the María Eugenia Haya gallery and the Joaquín Blez gallery. The María Eugenia Haya gallery on the first floor displays the work of Haya and other well-known photographers. On the second floor, the Joaquín Blez gallery exhibits the work of emerging photographers.
