Puerto Boniato is in a small town of the same famous name, especially for the viewpoint from which you can see all of Santiago de Cuba. This idyllic corner is close to Sierra Maestra, which is the most important mountain in Cuba, exactly in Sierra del Boniato, named for a very typical food that was planted in the place.
With little more than a century of life, this work of engineering was the idea of General Leonardo Wood, and it is not wasted if you love heights and beautiful landscapes. But not only that, you will also see the statue of "The Spirit of the Mountain", created by the Cuban René Valdés Cedeño, in which a white marble woman gazes at the horizon while taking refuge from the sun with her right hand, a site where you can take a photo recreating it to see the image years later and get a smile.
