You can find the Parque La Güira around San Diego de los Baños, in the province of Pinar del Río, Cuba. In the middle of these 219 Km² of protected territory, stands the Hacienda Cortina, a luxurious abandoned mansion that mixes European and Asian styles, and that will make you feel like you are inside a spooky horror movie.

The mansion was commissioned by wealthy lawyer José Manuel Cortina, who decided to build his hacienda in the middle of a gigantic urban park during the 1920s and 1930s. The fortified facade of the entrance, the guardhouse and the ruins of a small Chinese temple invaded by bamboo canes are still standing. 

The Hotel Mirador in San Diego de los Baños offers tours of the site, where you can also contemplate numerous species of birds that have made this their new home due to its isolation.
