The Fábrica de tabacos Francisco Donatien (Francisco Donatien tobacco factory) is located in Pinar del Río, Cuba. In these facilities, you can witness the manufacturing process of the famous Cuban cigars, whose fame has international reach.
The region of Pinar del Río is known for its great production of tobacco plants. For this reason, the local authorities decided to transform this old prison building into a tobacco factory where these famous national cigars could be rolled by hand. Tobacco production has become one of the most recognizable cultural features of the area.
The factory has a small shop outside where you can buy the final product and taste its unique flavour.
