Parque Josone (Josone Park), in the center of the Cuban city of Varadero, is a beautiful nine-hectare garden where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the shade of a palm tree or a pleasant boat ride on the lake inside.
The park was created to celebrate a couple's love. The place, which has been named after the union of their names José and Onelia, was built in 1942 and until 1963 it would be the couple's home. After this date, the land became the property of the State and would serve for years as a guest house for the government.
Nowadays, Parque Josone is a wonderful natural paradise where you can enjoy nature thanks to the great number of beautiful species that decorate it. The Laguna de la Paz inside the garden is also a great place to enjoy the views while passing under the beautiful wooden bridge that crosses it.
And if you are interested in trying the local cuisine, the park has a variety of high-quality restaurants where you can satisfy your appetite.
