Las Lajas, also known by the name of Santa Isabel de las Lajas, is a very well known town, mainly because it is the birthplace of the famous and beloved artist Benny Moré, the Barbarian of Rhythm. It's found to the north of the Cienfuegos province, in Cuba.

The town of Las Lajas owes its name to the characteristic soil of the area in colonial times. It was formed by many stones, and also the religious personality of Santa Isabel.

It's very typical to have its joyful popular celebrations, especially the Festivales Benny Moré, which has an international reputation.
