The Playa Santa Lucía (Santa Lucía beach)is located 110 km from the city of Camagüey, on the easternmost tip of the northern coast of this Cuban province.

If there's one thing that's truly spectacular, it's the same idyllic, natural, unspoiled landscape along its 20 km of white sand and coconut trees. The strip of sand is approximately 15 meters wide and the areas for swimming are very quiet, clean, devoid of dangerous species and with a sandy bottom that does not reach 2 meters deep.
These characteristics make it perfect for enjoying a refreshing swim. The climate is warm all year round and the waters are warm. The average temperature ranges from 28°C in August to 23°C in February.
This environment is ideal for sports such as fishing in the shallows. The great barrier of coral that is less than 2 km from the shore makes it very attractive for the tourist who loves snorkelling and underwater photography. But also along the 20 km, you can find tempting offers such as dance classes, water bikes and even catamaran rides, in addition to kitesurfing classes, volleyball and long walks by the sea.
Among all these activities, diving stands out and there are more than 35 established points for its practice along the beach. The Shark's Friends International Diving Centre offers courses for all levels and even the possibility of participating in shows with bull sharks, always with qualified instructors and the necessary safety measures.
On-Playa Santa Lucía there are various excursions available, all of which are very interesting for tourists. These vary between 3 and a half hours and 9 hours. Some include boat trips, meals, visits to colourful flamingos and reptiles, visits to sugar and tobacco plantations, tours of the city of Camagüey, and fishing. These interesting excursions are available from 25 CUC to 204 CUC.
The great variety of flora and fauna of this place is very peculiar since St. Lucia has the largest population of pink flamingos in the Caribbean and the contrast between the blue of the water and the sky, with the green of the vegetation and the pink of these birds, is very striking.
